What is RSS? • Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary • Content can be delivered without cluttering your email inbox • Avoid conventional searching or browsing websites • Written in internet coding language XML (Extensible Markup Language) • Makes anything on the web “subscribable”. • Need an RSS reader to read an RSS feed

  9. What is an RSS Reader? Small software program that collects and displays RSS feeds. We recommend: • Onfolio • Google Reader • Refworks

  10. Recommended RSS Readers • Onfolio (www.onfolio.com) • Free • Browser based • Must be downloaded & installed in Internet Explorer • Feeds delivered to single computer • Many bells & whistles (reading lists, folders, etc.)
