  1. Welcome to Fourth Grade Get ready for a great year.

  2. 4th Grade Math • We are starting a new math curriculum this year. Some of the strategies will look different. Information will be sent home periodically to help you and your child with these. • If you have questions, please let us know.

  3. 4th Grade Reading • Harcourt stories • Weekly tests & assignments • Literature studies • The majority of AR reading will be done at home.

  4. 4th Grade Writing • Develop stories & essays using thinking maps • Organize writing using the Write From the Beginning program • Be able to write using all of the six traits • Weekly spelling tests

  5. Social Studies Science Electricity Land and Water Animal Studies Health • Arizona studies • NativeAmericans • History • Geography • Government

  6. 4th Grade Responsibilities • Agenda • Daily math practice • Daily reading practice • Daily spelling practice • Follow six pillars of character • Turn in all work on time

  7. 4th Grade Field Trips • Fall: Arizona State Capitol & Wesley Bolyn plaza • Spring: To be announced

  8. Remember: • Save your box tops • Save Campbells soup labels

  9. Give Me Five! • PTSO is requesting families to commit 5 hours of volunteer time to our school throughout the year. • In the classroom • PTSO activities • Field trips • Library or cafeteria help • Help from home
