The Region 6 Newsletter process • Solicit information • Edit all text • Format • Obtain Tom’s approval of text • Manually make it into HTML • Send to MGA • Test the final product – QA • Repeat
The Region 6 Newsletter is sent to 45,684 members • How many people read it? • Redundant emails from IEEE on the same subjects reduce effectiveness • Is it worth doing this? • my time is 13 – 20 hours per month • Is it effective reaching members or is there a better way?
more on was accomplished: • MGA agreed to make GHTC2015 papers immediate open access (free to the world) • Friendship developed with the R10 Director. We now advertise each other’s GHTC events free • (previously was going to cost us $500) • Make the publications portion of GHTC2015 successful • Will be done but with very difficult hurdles • discussion of this in the afternoon
