  2. Why I chose to be a Dairy Farmer • Its been in my family for generations • I like helping on the farm • I like working with the cows

  3. The Jobs That Need To Get Done • Feed cows • Milk cows • Breed cows • Raise calves/heifers/cows • Spread manure • Fix broken things (misc.)

  4. Work In The Fall/Spring/and sometimes Summer • Plow, drag, & plant fields • Harvest crops • Cut alfalfa • Chop fields

  5. Educational Path • In High school you want to take some classes for common knowledge • Agribusiness • Animal Science • Production Agriculture

  6. Things you need to get a Degree in • Dairy husbandry and Production • Animal science • Dairy science • Agronomy • It helps if you grew up on a farm

  7. Salary • Salary: $18,900-100,701 • It can change up or down by the number of cows you own and by the milk prices(is how much the milk is being sold for)

  8. A Farm schedule • They work 7 days a week • Actual times very Spring 6:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Summer 7a.m.-6:30 p.m. Fall 7:00a.m.-10p.m. Winter 7:00a.m.-6p.m.

  9. Positive Aspects • You own your own business • You are your own boss • Flexible hours

  10. Negative Aspects • Planting • Long Hours • Work in the cold in winter • Work in the hot in summer • When something breaks, you have to fix it

  11. Dairy Farmers • No Promotions • Own their own business • The more animals you have the more money you make
