Trojan Academy Mission • Increase Student Achievement • Academics, extra-curricular, attendance, course offerings • Increase Parent/Community Involvement • Parent/Teacher conferences, Advisory Speakers, Community service • Academic Achievement Nights • Reduce the number of Retained Freshmen • Direct correlation to high school graduation • National Average is approximately 30% retained • Trojan Academy has reduced its retained freshmen to 2% - 4%

  5. Credits One class = one credit 5 credits = Sophomore 10 credits = Junior 16 credits = Senior 22 credits and 8 semesters to graduate Freshmen can earn 7 credits Sophomores – Seniors earn 8 credits each year

Freshmen Opportunities Centered Upon Success Dual Credit - college credit and high school credit Advanced Placement Courses – the “true” college experience for college credit Barren County Area Vocational Center - courses transfer to Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Leadership opportunities in clubs and organizations Career Completors – career ready skills and training KEES – Scholarship money, better grades = more money ACT Readiness – more rigorous classes = better scores better scores = more scholarship money

Need to Know • Drop off BEFORE 7:20 – Trojan Academy • Drop off AFTER 7:20 – High School • Checking Out During School – Trojan Academy • Pick Up AFTER school – High school • Absences/Tardies must be excused before students can make up their work • 3 Parent Notes per semester • Doctor’s Notes, Court Documentation • Turn in to the front office • Unexcused absences = 0s

Folders for each class Agenda books Check grades once a week Contact teachers if grades are not what you expect Cell phones only during class change and break – will be confiscated, parents have to pick up Shorts/skirts at or below the knee Sleeves must be 3 inches wide No cut out shirts Leave hats at home
