Dedication • This is dedicated to the 307 Americans killed in this battle.
June 4, 1942 • On June 4, 1942, Japanese admiral Isoroku Yamamoto decides to put an air base on Midway Island. While the Americans were trying to bomb the base, Japan was fighting back, this famous battle started.
The 3 lost carriers • The next day, the Americans launched squadrons of airplanes at 9:30 a.m. and found Kaga, Soryu , and , Akagi. Three carriers of Adm. Tamon Yamaguchi of the Japanese Navy. When Yamaguchi’s carrier(Akagi) was bombed , he was killed and Vice Adm. Chiuchi Nagumo took his place.
Yorktown & Hamman • On June 6, 1942 Japanese dive bombers found the American carrier USS Yorktown and destroyer USS Hamman and sunk them.
The search for the lost carrier • On June 7, 1942, Americans were in search of the Japanese carrier Hiryu. American dive bombers found the Hiryu, bombed, and sunk it. This battle was over and we won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
