Vocabulary: Paragraph 1 and 2 • 1 bride (groom): a woman who is getting married or who has just got married • 2 ancient: very old; having existed for a long time • 3 purity: the state of being clean, not dirty or polluted (vs. pollution) • 4 fabric: cloth, material
Vocabulary: Paragraph 1 and 2 • 5 progress: to move ahead • 6 veil: a piece of thin soft cloth that women sometimes wear over their heads and which can also cover their face • 7 modesty: acting, behaving, or dressing in a way so as to not attract attention (vs. show off)
Vocabulary: Paragraph 3 • 1 symbol: a symbol of something is a shape or design that is used to represent it • 2 eternal: lasting forever, timeless • 3 union: a joining of forces • 4 engrave: to cut or crave words, pictures, or designs in metal, stone, etc. • 5 vice versa: the same, but also in reverse, the opposite is also true • 6 vein: a small tube in the body that carries blood to the heart (vs. artery)
Vocabulary: Paragraph 4, 5 and 6 • 1 bloom: to flower • 2 bouquet: a group of flowers put together, usually to be given as a gift or to be held in a ceremony • 3 everlasting: never comes to an end • 4 show off: if you show off something, you show it to a lot of people or make it obvious, because you are so proud of it (vs. modesty)
