  2. A business to business background check is very important in the professional and commercial sector. Some of the reasons to perform a background check on any business or a company are to check whether the company is licensed or not, whether there are no liens on the company, if it has a decent reputation and if any civil filings or civil actions are taken against the business or company. You can directly call the company’s officials and you can have chat concerning the turn over, reputation, policies, terms, restrictions and conditions of the company.

There are two types of reports specifically mentioned as part of the FCRA, consumer report and investigative consumer report. • A consumer report is defined as a communication that provides information on a person’s “credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living.”  • Investigative consumer reports are considered part of a consumer report.

  4. What information do you really need to ensure that the company is one you want to do business with? • Have they ever been sued for some type of business malpractice? What is their work ethic?  • How do they treat their employees? Do they have proper licensing to conduct business?
