  4. Suggested Supplies List • Loose-leaf paper • 1 3-prong folder (for lesson notes, handouts, work in progress etc.) • Pencils and ink pens • No white out or permanent markers, please • Please replenish supplies throughout the year.

  5. Students are to be seated at all times. • Keep hands, body, and objects to yourself (H.B.O.) • Be prepared and ready to work when the bell rings. • Be responsible, consistent and respectful. • Raise your hand and wait to be called on. • Follow Broward School Board Code of Conduct and Driftwood Middle School Rules At All Times

Homework Policy • Mini book reports every month • Students should read for about • 30 minutes each night to aid • comprehension, word choice, • background knowledge, and • love of reading • 1 major reading project per • quarter • Information on homework can • be found on Wikispaces • **Make sure students use their planners daily

Make-up Work • If a student is absent, he or she can find missing assignments listed in the Class Notes binder (WHITE)on the FRONT table. • Extra assignments sheets are kept in folders according to the day they were assigned. • It is the student’s responsibility to get make up work done on time. I will provide any assistance, guidance or instruction that he or she might require. • If a student is absent due to illness on the day an assignment was given or due, he or she has 2 days to complete it.

  11. Z.A.P. Program(Zeros Aren’t Permitted) • If a student was NOT absent when an assignment was given or due, he or she will receive a ZAP form and be given 50% credit if it is returned the next day. • If the assignment or ZAP form is NOT returned the next day, the teacher will contact the parent, write a referral to guidance, and the student will complete the work in detention for 50% credit. • 3 ZAP’s will be cause for a referral even if the work was finally turned in.
