  15. HEY SENIORS! R U wanting money for college? It’s out there, but you have to work for it. The next few slides are about online scholarships which you could win. We have had CHS students win the Coca-Cola Scholars. Let’s have some CHS 2013 seniors winners.

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards If you've made a difference through volunteering over the past year, you could win $1,000 and a fabulous trip to Washington, D.C., next May by applying for a Prudential Spirit of Community Award! Even more importantly, you could win recognition that might inspire other young people to follow your example. These prestigious awards, sponsored by Prudential Financial and NASSP, have honored more than 100,000 middle and high school students at the local, state, and national level over the past 17 years solely for their volunteer work.   17. Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation PROGRAM OVERVIEW 1. Seniors in high schools throughout the United States who meet the eligibility requirements may apply each year for one of 250 four-year, achievement-based scholarships. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS APPLICANTS MUST BE: •CURRENT high school (or home-schooled) seniors attending school in the United States (or select DoD schools); •U.S. Citizens; U.S. Nationals; U.S. Permanent Residents; Temporary Residents (in a legalization program); Refugees; Asylees; Cuban-Haitian Entrants; or Humanitarian Parolees; •anticipating completion of high school diploma at the time of application; •planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution; •carrying a minimum 3.00 GPA at the end of their junior year of high school. APPLICANTS MAY NOT: •be children or grandchildren of employees, officers or owners of Coca−Cola bottling companies, The Coca−Cola Company, Company divisions or subsidiaries.   18. The Purpose of the Hagan Scholarship is to provide each scholarship recipient with the opportunity to obtain a four year college education and graduate debt free. The Workshops are intended to help each recipient obtain a practical understanding of important life skills that may not be taught as a part of the school curriculum. Each Hagan Scholarship will help pay the unmet financial need of the recipient, up to $5,000 per semester. For more information, please see the CHS Guidance Office or visit www.hsfmo.org.   22. National Honor society SELECTION STATUS If you submitted a Candidate Information Packet, you need to see Mrs. Sadler for information regarding your selection status. This needs to be done no later than 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9.

  23. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Ceremony response forms and Obligations of Membership Consent forms are due by 3:30 on Friday, October 12. Failure to submit these forms by the deadline could result in your not being accepted into membership. See Mrs. Sadler if you have questions.

  30. Thank you CHS! Clinton High School students donated 1,000 items to Samaritan Center! Mrs. Keller’s CAMP group was the overall winner with 102 items.

The best part of my job is assisting students as they transition through high school! I love watching students dream big and accomplish their goals!
