  6. Dress Code Weather in Savannah can vary a great deal in early May. Check the weather reports for the coast before you pack. Average temperatures for that time of year are low to mid 80’s for highs and mid 50’s for lows You are encouraged to check the weatherchannel.com or similar site closer to the date for a current forecast. It does usually rain, and as I tell kids – we’ve spent too much time and money on the trip to sit in the hotel and watch it rain. If it rains, we’ll get wet. Rain gear is a safe bet.

  7. Dress Code YES – YOU CAN WEAR THESE ITEMS GENTLEMEN LADIES

  8. Dress Code • Students can not wear clothing that has tears, rips, or holes in them (even below the knee). Girls can wear soccer shorts or other athletic shorts. Girls can wear tank tops or camisole tops as long as they are not sheer or low cut. No mid-drifts are permitted. Basically we tell the girls we shouldn’t see the three B’s – bottoms, breasts or belly buttons. 21. Behavior Code • All school rules apply on the trip. Discipline measures will be handed out if needed. • The basic rule to remember is to have appropriate theatre etiquette while on all tours: this includes museums, walking tours, and trolley tours. • We have a concern this year with student’s being rude to adults/teachers and talking while we are talking. This is NOT appropriate in the classroom, but will definitely NOT be tolerated on the tours. Docents & Guides should be listened to and shown due respect. They are there to educate and assist you during the given tours.

  22. Behavior Code • Chaperones should be listened to when requests are made, and those requests should be followed without question. Failure to follow directives will result in consequences. • Students should not use vulgar or coarse language at anytime during the trip. • When in museums or other venues, please be mindful of the fact that we are (a) guests and (b) not the only guests present. Students should be courteous to employees, as well as other guests. Keep talking to a minimum during self-guided tours and make way for other visitors to pass your group if necessary.

  23. Behavior Code • Students may not leave their hotel rooms after lights out, unless in the case of an emergency. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in your departure from the trip at your parent’s expense. • At no time or for no reason may students of opposite gender enter each other’s hotel rooms. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in your departure from the trip at your parent’s expense. • Students should keep their hotel room free of trash and half eaten food.

  24. Behavior Code • In the event of a fire emergency, students should evacuate the building and gather at their assigned bus for roll call. Elevators should not be used in a fire emergency, instead stairs should be used and students should file out silently. • In the event of a weather emergency, directions will be given and students will be expected to follow and adhere to these directions for their safety. • In the event of a medical emergency, students should immediately contact room chaperone, who will contact Mr. House, Ms. Tumbleston, or Nurse Sanders. 911 will be called in the event of a life threatening emergency.

  25. Savannah Assignments – The Scrapbook • All students will complete the Savannah assignment scrapbook during the trip. This scrapbook will be due to the student’s social studies teacher no later than Wednesday, 5/15/19.

  26. Savannah Assignments – The Scrapbook • The students should have the scrapbook with them at all times throughout the trip. They will be expected to complete assignments at many of the venues. • They should collect an artifact at each venue and take pictures (that they can actually print) throughout the week. • Additionally, they will complete a reflection journal piece each evening. • The scrapbook is organized by days and the itinerary is provided at the top of each day’s entry to ensure that the student knows the plans for each day. They are expected to be on time and prepared for that days events.
