  1. Evaluator’s Program Description (EPD) Melodee Sweeney Edtech 505

  2. What is an EPD and how does it help? • Allows the evaluator to “nail down” when the monitoring needs to take place. • The EPD helps the evaluator clarify goals and objectives, along with the activities that will be monitored.

  3. The evaluator’s role • It is the evaluator’s role to bring everyone into the conversation and to find out what the major goals are and that all parties share them. • The evaluator must ask pertinent questions to find out the guidelines and goals that the participants are trying to achieve. • The evaluator is the driving force that get the evaluation up and running and then keeps it goingand creates a team effort.

  4. Importance of Dialogue • Dialogue is another term that appears when discussing EPD’s. • The main questions evaluators ask is to determine the goal of the program, but there are other questions that are as important and help build relationships between the evaluator and the participants at all levels.

  5. Importance of Dialogue cont. • If there is dialogue between the evaluator and everyone else, then the evaluation will be more of a success. • If there is a good relationship and if trust has been built, then those involved will be more willing to help and it will seem like less of a burden.

  6. Dialogue and evaluation success • The evaluator must let the participants know that their questions are being heard, and that their opinion does indeed matter. • Everyone must not only be included, but feel included for the evaluation to be as successful as it possibly can.
