When looking at dynamic and static characters: - We are not talking about moods, attitudes, or appearance - Dynamic Characters change AS A PERSON by the end of the text. Example: If a character was selfish in the beginning, he or she will learn to be more generous by the end -Static Characters won’t change AS A PERSON by the end of the text. Example: A character who is selfish in the beginning will still be selfish at the end
How can we track character changes in fantasy fiction, thinking about what we’ve learned? - PLOT SUMMARIES! Plot summaries have all the major events that happens in the story with the character and how that character reacted to each event.
