How to Prewrite Form of Writing: A pen pal letter is written to a person who is located in an area different from yours. Ex: different states, countries, or continents Stage of writing: During prewriting you will determine what you want to say in the letter, and a topic or two to discuss. You will also fill out the graphic organizer.

Activity Using the graphic organizer that class formed create a letter using shared writing. Display graphic organizer so that it can be used as a reference.
Assessment Using the graphic organizer write a letter to your pen pal. Make sure it contains complete sentences. Have a clear purpose and clear organization.
