  2. Description Baking is something that I enjoy doing a lot! I love all things cupcakes so my choosing a local cake shop in my home town makes perfect sense. Cakes Plus is a specialty cake store in Laurel, MD that not only creates custom cakes and cupcakes for wedding, birthdays, corporate events, and other events, but they also sell cake decorating supplies and other products related to baking and candy making for home bakers as well as professional bakers. Also, this is one of the places that I shop at if I need decorating items for cupcakes and candy making that I enjoy doing in my spare time. In addition to their main product which is custom cakes, they sell fresh cupcakes in many flavors as well as offer cake decorating and candy making courses for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. These classes are small so the students can get one-on- one instruction and guided if needed. Cakes Plus’ cakes come in flavors such as yellow (vanilla), chocolate, marble, lemon, and spice as well as Carrot, rum, liqueurs and other special flavors and fillings such as barvarian cream, chocolate barvarian cream, strawberry, , pineapple, and coconut. This place is somewhat special to me because they made a beautiful cake for my Aunt’s second baby shower a few years ago. Every time I go into this store it is always filled with customers placing custom orders and buying last minute cupcakes, so you know they must be doing something right with their product.
