To continue steadfastly indicates the earnest zeal to be actively present in the new man. • The words “continued steadfastly” are translated from one Greek word. • proskartereo– “be strong towards” • To endure in, persevere in • Christians are to give themselves entirely to doing the works of God (cf. Eph. 2:10).
Steadfastly continue in the apostles’ doctrine (teaching). • Beware of doctrines of men (Gal. 1:8-9). • Give constant attention to what Christ’s apostles taught and wrote. • Teaching from the Lord (John 16:13-14; 1 Cor. 14:37; 2 John 9).
