Similarly, in 2004 the steps we are taking today have the potential for dramatically re-shaping and globalizing education and language learning. You are helping your students soar!
iEARN Goals • To facilitate teacher-directed, student collaborative on-line international project work • To create global, national, and local support structures to sustain educational project work • To demonstrate that online education can enhance language and global learning and improve the quality of life on the planet
iEARN Experience • 16 years of linking schools for project work in both northern and southern hemispheres (started in 1988) • Structures and projects in 110 countries, involving 1,000,000 students annually in 20,000 schools • Collaboration with governments, NGO’s, foundations, state educational agencies, development agencies • Language skills through interaction with native speakers
