  3. Obj 1: Reduce poverty in families • Change Management Programme • Obtaining alternative income Measure 1.7a • Reskilling – barrier payment – bespoke training • Farm Diversification - Diversification Challenge - Potential funding

  4. Obj 2: Skills Development/Healthier Choices • CAFRE • short courses - customised courses • Farming Groups – capacity building • Women in Agriculture – Blooming Healthy Programme

  5. Obj 3: Promote Mental Health/Emotional Well-being • Rural Stress – BSE/FMD/CAP reform • Rural Support – DARD/UFU/NIAPA - on-going programmes • WIFH - Social Isolation Programmes - Pharmacist (Agricultural dispensing) • Future - Epizootic outbreaks contingency plan R.S/DHSS/DARD

  6. Obj 4: Healthier Environment/Fuel Poverty • Energy resources – alternative land use • Omagh Environmental and Energy Consortium - Clanabogan project - Biomass boiler – college - small scale anaerobic digester • Future - alternative energy crops - community/co-operative projects

  7. Obj 5: Improve our Neighbourhoods/ Environment • CAP reform • Modulation • Environmental schemes • Rural development projects • Future – phosphates and nitrates – water quality

  10. Blooming Healthy Programme Women in Agriculture/HAZ/Rural Support/Chest Heart & Stroke - MOT – cholesterol, diet, weight check, blood pressure etc - referrals to GP’s - Advisory literature - cross community – whole family

Future Opportunities for the sector we aim to help farm families use their resources more effectively 2 areas of interest - renewable energy • We have the resources, skills, and land quality required - quality local food • We have enviable quality assurance standards and a proven track record
