Aims for Year 4 • To encourage responsibility and independent learning • To prepare children for the future through the Programme of Inquiry and the Learner Profile
EXPECTATIONS Be an example to others in the school Be polite and show respect towards everyone Be co-operative and caring Behaviour & Work Learn to become inquirers Be self-organised and responsible To be able to reflect on their learning and their work Be motivated and aim to be the best they can be
Daily Routines • Communication: Diary/Email • Timetables-4 weeks • Reading Record • Coming to school prepared • Borrowing Books-Library • Uniform/Wearing PE Kit/Equipment
Homework • This will start on Monday 7th September. This will be given out in the form of a grid (2 weeks).Returned on following Wednesday 16th September. • Links for computer games and research will be found on the CLC • The tasks on the grid will include: • -Reading-15-20 minutes/daily • -Literacy-spelling • -Inquiry related task • -Daily Typing practise using BBC Dance Mat programme (http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/) • Homework notes written in Diary every Friday
SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD AT HOME • Provide a quiet place when homework needs to be done • Any problems regarding homework-note in diary on Tuesday • Encourage your child to organise time for homework and to hand it in on time • Organise playdates and outdoor activities

FOOD (SNACK AND LUNCHES) Please provide your child with a healthy, nutritious snack and lunch. Food Allergies: NO NUTS -Please be aware that we have students in the school with severe, life threatening allergies to nuts. If your child does have a severe allergy, please ensure that you have informed the school in writing.
