Musical Groups All music offerings are aligned with the 2009 New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards for Visual and Performing Arts • General Music as part of the Encore Program • Choral offering include: • Concert Choir and Treble Choir - rehearsals during Prime Time • Vocal Ensemble - before school* • Handbell Choir*, Men's Ensemble*, Women's Ensemble* rehearse after school • Vocal Lessons during lunch • School Musical - rehearses after school and is subject to a $50.00 Pay-to-Participate fee • Instrumental Lessons include: • group band and orchestra lessons during the school day • Jazz Band*, Jazz Ensemble*, String Orchestra,* Concert Orchestra*, Concert Band and Symphonic Band* rehearse before school. *indicates group is subject to a $75.00 Pay-to-Participate fee.

  10. Extra-Curricular Clubs and Athletics Club program will be similar to 6th grade experience. Athletics Interscholastic Program (after school with transportation): Grades 7-8 Teams are made up of students from both North and South. *Denotes our non-cut sports. Pay to Participate $75.00 fee/ On-line Registration this year.

Eligibility Process for Athletics • A) How does my child become eligible for interscholastic sports? • He/She must receive an annual physical exam. • Parent submits completed medical and parent permission forms prior to the start of Pre-Season • B) Where do I find the required forms? • Crossroads Home Pagedisplays the link to download the athletic forms. • C) When do all the forms have to be submitted? • ALL forms are submitted to your school health office. • Dates: Monday - July 9th – Nurses will begin to accept completed forms • Wednesday - August 1st– Last day to submit forms to be eligible for the first day • of Pre-Season • Notifications for each sports season will be sent home approximately two weeks prior to the first day forms are accepted via hard copy, On-line Friday folder, and posted on the Crossroads website. • Fall Season – June 15th Winter Season – September 20th • Spring Season – January 20th

Daily Schedule: Similar to 6th Grade Service Projects: Book Sales, Shoes For Africa, 4H-Project Gift, Senior Center Connection, Shoot for the Cure, Volley for Life Homework 45-90 minutes is a nightly expectation: Agendas will be used. Placement into Units Based on Criteria Balance in Numbers Heterogeneous Grouping Gender Balance Learning/Teaching Styles Summer Communications Students will receive their math placement information with the third trimester report card. Students will find out their unit assignment on the first day of school.
