Who We Are • Class III Terminal Switching Railroad founded in 1897 • Corporate headquarters in Portsmouth, VA • Own 35 miles of track with an additional 27 miles of trackage rights • Jointly owned by NS & CSX • Operate in the Hampton Roads, Virginia communities of Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Norfolk

  3. Our Business • Handled 24,251 cars in 2011 (+2.6%) • Bulk Products • Grain, Ethanol & Chemicals • Award our 7th straight Jake Award for Safety • Last five have been with distinction

Issues We Face • Government Regulation • Urban Environment • 51 road crossings, 24 of them public • No room for expansion • Mainline Bridge • First bridge on the southern branch of the Elizabeth River (Inland Waterway System). • International Markets • Work closely with customers and the Virginia Port Authority
