  4. ADVERSARY • Off the court they are pals, but on the court they play tennis like the staunchest of ADVERSARIES.

  5. Which is the REAL adversary?

  6. ARTISAN n. A person who is skillful with his or her hands

  7. ARTISAN • In Italy, my grandfather worked as an ARTISAN; he was a glass blower.

  8. ASCETIC N. A person who refrains from indulging in earthly pleasures

  9. ASCETIC • Why would one who claims to be an ASCETIC own five wristwatches and a suitcase full of jewelry? • Tiffany lives ASCETICALLY in a simple, one-room cabin in the woods.

  10. CHARLATAN N. A fraud; a quack or an imposter
