Western (particularly American) culture has a huge impact around the world, though people in other countries don’t necessarily ascribe the same meanings to products as we do. • New products, services, and ideas spread through a population. Different types of people are more or less likely to adopt them.

  3. Memes Meme: an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person in a culture. • Acts as a unit of carrying cultural ideas, symbols or practices, which can be transmitted from one mind to another • Memes that survive are distinctive and memorable

  4. Article – “High schoolers banned for tebowing” • In Long Island, 4 high school athletes suspended for Tebowing • Tim Tebow’s display of his devotion to his Christian faith • Suspended for clogging the hallway, not for bringing religion to school • Superintendent Nancy Carney, reported receiving hate mail • Students have been Tebowing all week • The incident saw about 40 students engaging in Tebowing
