Views of Cleft Lip and Palate • USA, Canada, Europe, Russia- Usually O.K. • Usually repaired • Better Surgeons • Asia- Usually Not O.K. • Families don’t have enough money • Birth defects = isolation • Usually never marry • Parents give for adoption • Africa/South America- O.K. • Not enough money • But birth defects are O.K.
