Bringing AND KeepingYour Team Together Take time to stop and smell the flowers!
Camaraderie • Planned team gatherings • Make them affordable for families who ride together • Picnics after “tough” rides • Mentoring • Veteran riders take turns helping new riders • Think back to your “newbie” days and answer the questions they are embarrassed to ask (shifting, shorts with or without undies, etc.)
FUN, FUN, FUN • Remember, the more fun they have the more likely they will be to ride again. • GET THEM TRAINED – being prepared for a 2-day bike tour will allow them to have fun and enjoy the tour. • Start out short and flat and then ramp up training rides for distance and be sure to add hills • Give them a 62-mile deadline…“By this date you should be able to ride 62 miles”.
MISSION POSSIBLE • Educate the team about MS – put a face to it. • This will help to develop deeper commitments to the fundraising aspect. • Hold team fundraisers so “money is not an object”.
