Hiring Process Improvements TeacherInsight – Online Interview Questionnaire • Applications screened within 1 business day of submission and released immediately to Principals • Applicants contacted immediately if missing information – postcard sent if not able to contact within 1 business day Virtual Job Fair • Applications accepted online and prescreened to verify highly qualified status • Interviews prescheduled to maximize candidate’s and Principal’s time

Accomplishments • Hosted reception for CNU students in January • Established Welcome Teams at each school • Began weekly orientation sessions (laptop computer, curriculum) • Conducted Licensure workshop for substitute employees • Conducted Licensure meetings at schools • Paying licensure renewal fees for teachers (effective 6/08) • Completed first year of Teachers for Tomorrow Program

Goals Technology • ERP – Applicant Tracking System • Introduce Online Exit Interview Survey in October Staffing/Retention • New Teacher Cookout – October 24th (4:00 – 6:00 pm) Todd Stadium • Expand licensure information meetings • Implement Service Award program • Continue seeking budget support to provide incentives to teachers

  13. Summary • Best start in 5 years! • 99.4% of positions filled vs. 98.2% (06-07) • Strengthening of relationships with local universities and efficient hiring processes resulted in significant staffing improvements • New teachers hired have increased levels of experience and education
