Bérard, Adeline Cauchy • Cyprus: Lead EEWRC, No tourism expert • Croatia : Lead DHMZ, No tourism expert • Climate expert team • Tunisia : Paolo Ruti and Latifa Henia • Savoie: Clotilde Dubois • Cyprus: Manfred Lange • Croatia : Cedo Brankovic, FilipoGiorgo
WP Overview Deliverables and MS
Answering user needs Approach & overview of the products
Products’development stage Approach for Savoie and Tunisia • Strong interaction between CET and SET (regular meetings to discuss background and format of the products) • Mobilisation of intermediaries, data providers essentially (like observatory of climate change in Savoie) • Less interaction withinstitutional and operationaltourismstakeholders • Large surveyof tourists in Tunisia (for TCI product) • Main difficultiesencountered (SET point of view) thatslowed down the interaction in the development stage • Difficulties to access and then to reformat the productsalreadyavailable • Need of verydetailed, translated and adaptedproductsthatrequires a substantialreformatting • Need to strengthen and better justify the product selection for development
Overview of the products Prior the workshops
Workshops stage A participatory approach • 3 workshops wereorganized : Tunisia and Savoie (May), Croatia (June) • The Cyprus workshop willbeheld in September • Few attendance (5-10 tourismstakeholders per workshop) • Typology of stakeholdersinvolved : • Savoie : Mountain resort, Federation of outdoor activities, camping • Tunisia : Travelagencies, hotel manager • Croatia :National park, county tourism association, national agency Stillremainsdifficult to mobilizetourismstakeholders

Presentclimateproducts Ex: TCI - Tunisia
Presentclimateproducts Ex: TunisiaIndicators of bathingseason
Future products Ex: Evolution of temperatures in highmountain areas Model ensemble mean (black line) for the T°C maximum. The envelop represents the minimum and maximum changes obtained by the different simulations.
Relevance of the products • Good representation (backgound, format), easy to understand • A better understanding of tourism and climate change (spatial and timescale) • Better use of the country's potential climate and diversification of tourism activities (Tunisia) • Good tool to rise awareness (Savoie) • …
Limitation and perspectives • Need to diversifyclimateparamatersfor successfullproducts • Ex : Extend the SST forecast to temperature, precipitation, extremesevents • Need to diversifytime scalesaccording to stakeholders • Ex : Need to focus on more short termproducts for operational management in Savoie (long termproducts are not so relevant) / Need to develop Futur conditions for TCI • Need to improvethe format of someproducts • Ex : Future Climate change in Tunisia + extremesevents in Savoie • Needto correlateproducts to impact studies • Ex : Temperature of moutainlakes in Savoie • Need to find the best way of diffusion + production • Ex : via local or national institution, newsletter, mobile application etc.

The grafic shows the mean of air surface temperature tas (a) and precipitation pr (b) for the 2041-2050 period against 1971-1980 in IPCC A1B scenario simulations

Examples Relevant but not sufficient
Nextsteps • Finalization of the products and workshop reports • Preparation of the cross-cutting conclusions • Reflection on the involvement of SH in the last phase
