Backround • Attitudes and believes of going abroad have been changed, even among disabled people themselves • International exchange has become a normal part of studying • However only few students with disabilities go to exchange during their studies • HEIs have often little information, what kind of things have to be taken into consideration, when student with disabilities go to abroad
CIMO & Accessibility • Centre for International Mobility CIMO: • promoting international mobility and cooperation by providing expertise and services • implementing various exchange, trainee and scholarship programmes, functioning as the National Agency for all LLP-programmes in Finland • organization under the Finnish Ministry for Education and Culture • Strategy 2020 goal: CIMO promotes equal opportunities to participate in international cooperation and actively fights inequality • Internal working group to promote accessible international mobility in higher education was founded in 2011
