Employer Participation Very good return rate, well done!!
Employer Participation • Overall: went very well, people know system and interact well with it • Planned training and Scarce Skills seems more detailed as last year • Required lot less technical support than last year
Employer Participation OFO Mapping • Do not use the Mandatory Grants Guide • Perpetuate previous year’s inaccurate information • Submitted no mapping, expecting IT Aware to do it • Companies still mapped their employees to • Government Managers • Special Forces Operators • Two specific examples used in the road show • Some instances there were no relation between the OFO code and the Occupation Name or Specialisation • the error checker did not pick this up
Employer Participation System Interface • Lack intermediate basic Excel & internet browsing skills • Use system to buy extra time – no records were lost, wrong detail entered, making search for a specific company impossible • L number checking worked well to ensure companies are registered with CHIETA, causing immense frustration in the registration process
Employer Participation Do not recognise the value of Source Data to maintain in-house data • 3 rd year using similar template – still not maintaining learning data in some standard format using standard referencing for Highest Qualifications and Learning Programmes • In-house data for learning kept in variety of formats, with no or little standard referencing • Highest School qualification still not updated/recorded
