DOL Phase 4 Deliverables: Gateway • Deakin Gateway is the “top level” of the Deakin Web domain • Enhancements include the rebuild of Gateway pages within the standard Deakin template • Page layout: • 1 = Deakin home link • 2 = permanent navigation Bar • 3 = background image • 4 = site title • 5 = keyword logo • 6 = primary (horizontal) menu • 7 = secondary (vertical) menu • 8 = breadcrumb trail • 9 = printer friendly link • 10=content • 11=footer

DOL Phase 4 Deliverables: Web Management Tool • WMT repalces the Templates maintenance site and web registry system (WRS) • Integral component of the WMT is the new Deakin web template (.dwt) that forms • the basis for pages managed by the tool • Web development strategy – now have 3 web environments: DEV – UAT - PROD • Relevant Documentation: • DWM (Designated Web Manager’s) Site www.deakin.edu.au/dwm • User guide (html and .pdf with screen-shots) • Resource documents and checklists • Implementation Issues cf. FAQ list

DOL Phase 4 Deliverables: WMT • Known Issues: • Manual creation of Samba shares and assign user to gps. • Inability for tool to maintain site content i.e. edit files – rights issue Contingent on successful implementation of Groups project and appropriate permissions for the Tool to write to the shares • Tool used to: • Assign permissions for Web Administrators (WAs) • Amend site details and metadata • Quality assurance and compliance checking • Preview and publish mechanisms

DOL Phase 4 Deliverables: Portal • Deakin Portal is a corporate communication tool developed to be a single reference • point for a wide range of information for staff and students • Current enhancements include: • Customisable “Personal” tab for staff and students • Budget Centre Tab • DWM channel • Context specific “Help” icon on dynamic channels • Consistent Portal  Application  Portal navigation (header)

DOL Phase 4 Deliverables: Portal • Portal should load at logon (Phoenix desktop SOE) • Single Sign On (SSO) currently under development • 3 potential “views” of the Portal: • Staff / Student / Guest • 4 colour schemes for logon • Various access points • Majority of Portal “owned” by • PVC Online Servcies, but with specific • escalation points for certain dynamic channels
