HIRE HEROES USA • The Result • 1 veteran confirmed hired every business day • Since July 2010, Hire Heroes USA has: • Helped more than 850 veterans/spouses achieve employment • Received, revised, and returned to veterans more than 3,200 professional-quality resumes that translated military experience into transferable job skills • Conducted 68 Workshops at 21 different military installations for 1,011 wounded/ill/injured troops and spouses • Properly trained veterans are 3x more likely to get a job than untrained veterans
ECONOMIC STATISTICS • Since 2007, the US has been in the worst recession since the Great Depression • National unemployment rate of 7.5% (As of April 2013) • Post 9/11 Veteran unemployment rate of 9.9%; 20.6% for veterans ages 20 – 24 for 2012 • 8.5% of disabled veterans are unemployed • However, the employment picture for veterans is improving; Post 9/11 Veteran unemployment rate of 7.5% (as of April 2013)
