The Global launch of Kick TB took place at the Union Conference in Mexico during Nov 2009. Phase 1 is two years The Kick TB campaign seeks to create awareness on TB by fusing soccer and social mobilisation to create a platform through which appropriate TB appropriate messages are conveyed. Specifically, the campaign aims to: • Increase in case detection • Increase in TB treatment adherence and Increase in TB cure rate especially in rural areas • Increase in self-efficacy Target Audience: School learners between 5 and 13 years. Approximately 115,000 learners drawn from health promoting schools across South Africa. Special attention will be given to schools in the 18 priority districts identified by the NDoH for accelerated interventions and high burden TB communities.
