Reversed Thunder – Revelation 8-9 Ch 9 – calamities directed at people • ‘Star’, v1 = Satan • ‘Locusts’ V3-11 (despotic rulers and dictators?) • one of the Egyptian plaques • vegetarian but these only harm people - v5 • couldn’t kill, only ‘torture’ or ‘torment’ - v5 • limited to 5 Months - v5 & 10. • grotesque, but attractive - v9 • Human like faces & woman’s hair • Crown = authority • iron breastplate – invincibility • power - horses and chariots • Alluring but with a sting in the tail – v10 • 6th Trumpet - terror and death to a 1/3rd of the population (v13) - overwhelming evil and terror.
