Unlike Mann, however, Smith did not actually bring the locket back to a secure place. Thus, Smith’s “control” of the locket was different from Mann’s “control” of the ski, because Smith did not supervise it or restrict access to it, as defined by the statute. Smith therefore did not “obtain control” over the locket. • Unclear conclusion – goes back and forth
