UNIVERSITY OF BANJA LUKA Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Petar M. Gvero, Associate Professor TEMPUS - ENERESE Project Meeting 04 to 05. April, 2013.
University of Banja Luka • As of 1st January 2008 the University of Banja Luka is integrated, with faculties as organizational units. • The Steering Board, Senate and Rector govern the University. • The Rector legally represents the University. • There are four Vice-Rectors (in charge of: research and scientific work, international relations, teaching and student issues and human resources). • The Steering Board is the managerial body of the University. It consists of eleven members-five representatives of academic staff, one representative of non-academic staff, one representative of students and four appointed by the government. • The University Senate is the highest academic body, which discusses all academic issues and has twenty-six members–one representative of academic staff from each organizational unit (16), five representatives of students, Rector and four Vice-Rectors.
Experiences in the field of EE in local authorities • We are supporting ALVRS in their international activities (NALAS task force) some of our department members are members of EE Board. • Collaboration with international and bilateral projects dealing with energy in the cities and municipalities: • GIZ Energy Efficiency Consultancy BiH , Phase I (April 2010 – March 2013) • USAID - 3E Enterprise Energy Efficiency (2010 – 2013) • UNDP – several projects • EC – Support to B6H to meet the requirements of the Energy Community Treaty with specific reference to Energy Efficiency and Renewables - DELTER • Norway - NORSK ENERGI – District Heating Sector in B&H
ENERESE activities breakdown • Involvement of four engineering faculties in the project at the beginning phase: • Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (3+2) • Faculty of Electrical Engineering (4+1) • Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering (4+1) • Faculty of Technology (4+1) • After proposal of the program and analysis of the content two faculty left in the project: • Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (3+2) • Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering (4+1)
Open questions • Interdisciplinary concept problem – proposed content eliminates ETF and TF? • How to adopt this master studies taking into consideration deferent concepts of the study Bachelor / Master: • 3/2 Faculty of Mechanical Engineering • 4/1 Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering • Who will be in charge for diploma issuing? • CREDO doctoral studies – some proposed subjects are integrated in that level of the study.
Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering • Concept of energy efficiency and management - EU and national legislation`s prospective • HVAC • Energy efficient and environmental friendly construction materials • Energy optimization of the building envelope/heat transfer and diffusion/passive and active systems • Studio project/ energy audit of the building as equivalent to energy certificate, architectural physics certificate/ new model of energy efficient and optimized building
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering • Numerical mathematics (o) • Heat and mass transfer (o) • Combustion • Heating systems • Heat transformation (Refrigeration and Heat Pumps) • Fluid Mechanics II • Energy economy (o)
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering • Thermodynamic methods of evaluation • Transport systems • Air conditioning systems (o) • Automation and regulation systems • Computer design • CFD Modeling • Energy efficiency • Two-phase flow • Renewable energy sources
