Definition of Identity • According to Merriam Webster’s Online Dictionary: • The distinguishing character or personality of an individual • The condition of being in the same with something described or asserted
Reasons people identify with different groups… • Were born into it, things that were decided before they were born • Like or believe in the same things
Reasons people identify with different groups… • People around them tell them they are a certain way • Want to belong to something • Any combination of the above
