Position-vs-Time Graphs Graph of displacement over time. • Above x axis = positive displacement • Below x axis = negative displacement • Slope of the graph = velocity • Horizontal line = object is not moving (slope=velocity=0) • Positive slope = positive velocity • Negative slope = negative velocity
Velocity-vs-Time Graphs Graph of velocity over time. • Slope of the graph = acceleration • Horizontal line = constant velocity (so acceleration=0) • Positive slope = positive acceleration • Negative slope = negative acceleration
