  2. Methodology and Sample Sample A total of 810 respondentsparticipated in the study. All the respondents were recruited from Ontario. Field dates Start Date – 15st Nov 2013 End Date – 21th Nov 2013 Interviewing methodology Data was collected via a 5-minuteInternet-based questionnaire Participation criteria All participants were screened to ensure they are currently smoking tobacco cigarettes or in the process of quittingor have smoked in the past but not now. 810

  3. Key TAKEAWAYS Majority of those respondents who are currently smoking have tried to quit this habit. Those who have quit the habit indicate the extra will-power helped them in the successful attempt. Monetary incentives (either in the form of cash or valuables) and integrated support can motivate people to quit. All respondents, especially those who have quit smoking, indicate that support from loved ones plays an important role in helping people to quit. The fact that most current smokers still have close family and friends smoking around them might indicate that few are finding it hard to quit.
