  1. Brief Information About IP Address

  2. There are many types of computer networks: • IP mean stand for the internet protocol. It is a numerical label assign to each device in network. Network is the group of two or more computer connected in an internet link form network.

  3. LAN: Local area networks are those networks that connect geographically in same building. • MAN: Metropolitans area networks are those networks that connect geographically in city or town • WAN: Wide area network are those networks that connect geographically in all over the world. • HAN: Home area network are those networks that connect geographically in a user’s home in person’s digital devices.

  4. Every network needs to connect in with different types of topologies, protocols, and architectures. • Each computer having its own IP address allows a device to communicate with each other devices over a network. • It provides an unique identification to each computer in network of internet.

  5. How to identify my IP address? • An IP is unique identification of 32 bits to network devices. It provides to each computer with unique identification and allows to communicating with other devices over an IP-based network. • IP address is also known as IPv4. It uses a 32-bit number system to represent an IP address in both network and host address.

  6. • Host address• Network address • A 32-bit number system roughly providing 4 billion unique numbers, although IPv4 addresses running more devices throughout connected to the IP network. • New version of IPv4 invented to offer limitless number of unique addresses. IPv4 have two types of address:

  7. It represent in dotted decimal number notation -like 216.3.128.12. Which is four set (4) of number separated by period, each set represented eight (8) bit number, having ranging (0-255). • IP serve two function i.e. - host or network interface identification and location addressing. A new version of IP (IPv6), having 128 bits for the address system.

  8. • Unicast address• Multicast address• Any cast address • It always display or written in human read notation like 216.3.128.12. IPv6 addresses are distinguished between three types:

  9. THANKS • Whenever, you use computer then by default the router you use to automatically assign each computer its own IP address. • If you want to check your IP address in easy way then simply visit us.
