The war ended in Europe with the unconditional surrender by Germany on May 7, 1945 and then the German surrounded to the soviets on May 8, 1945. • Germany was defeated by the British and Americans in the south and west and by the Russians in the east. • Japan also unconditionally surrendered to the U.S. on Sept. 2, 1945 after 2 atomic Bombs were dropped by the U.S.A on Nagasaki and Hiroshima in Japan in Aug. 1945.
