SAXON HILL Progress Data to summer 2018
We saw a massive improvement in progress data figures for the 3 core subjects in 2017. Much of this however can be explained by the shift from using the available national expectations to a ‘Life After Levels’ system of setting and evaluating individual pupils’ expectations.
English Maths Science EHC - Cognition and Learning EHC - Communication and Interaction EHC - Social, Emotional and Mental Health EHC - Physical and Sensory At the end of each term, teachers evaluate pupils’ progress against these expectations in all 7 areas and allocate a progress score: 1 – Below Expectations 2 – Met Expectations 3 – Exceeded Expectations In 2017 these national levels became obsolete so our teachers now use their professional judgement to set termly progress expectations for individual pupils in these 7 areas of Learning:The 3 core subjects and the 4 areas from their Education, Health and Care Plan:
Since end of summer 2017 over 80% of all pupils have consistently Met or Exceeded their Expectations in every subject area and by the end of summer 2018 at least 90% had Met or Exceeded expectations in all areas.
Every term these progress scores are recorded, collated and a summary of actions and interventions are detailed on a termly Data Dashboard and used to inform and direct the School Improvement Plan.
