  2. A disease that affects it: • Celiac disease- A common but often undiagnosed autoimmune digestive disorder that results from an allergic reaction to gluten.

  3. What causes Celiac Disease? • The destruction of the inner lining of the small intestine in celiac disease is caused by an allergic reaction to gluten in the diet that inflames and destroys the inner lining of the small intestine.

  4. Signs & Symptoms • Diarrhea • Flatulence • Abdominal bloating • Abdominal pain

  5. Does the body try to fix itself? • No, medication is needed.

  6. What medications do you need to take? • Calcium • Folate • Iron • Vitamin B-12 • Vitamin D • Vitamin K

  7. Is it curable? • No.
