Accor mobilizes the tourism industry on HIV/AIDS and malaria • 2006: Gilles Pélisson, CEO of Accor, signed the GBC's Declaration of Commitment • 2007: Within the GBC, Accor impulsed the creation of "The Travel and Tourism Industry Dialogue » (15 members in 2009) • 2008: Accor signed the GBC Pledge to fight against HIV/AIDS discrimination and stigma in the workplace Joint action of awareness-raising and testing in Senegal targeting the 800 Accor and Club Med employees • 2009: Accor organized with the GBC a breakfast gathering the tourism industry around AIDS at the WTTC summit in Florianópolis
HIV/AIDS : actions developed for the staff • In 2007, launch of Accor’s international procedure to fight against HIV/AIDS • ACT-HIV is an awareness-raising and monitoring tool for the general managers (hotels and services). It explains in 6 steps how to conduct a program to fight against HIV/AIDS
AIDS/Malaria: Accor mobilizes its clients • In 2007, Accor produced, in partnership with Air France, 2 short films to prevent against HIV/AIDS and Malaria « Going on a trip? » • These films are broadcast in the hotels of the Group mostly in South America and the Caribbean • Hotels are also equipped with condom dispensers
Malaria : a pilot operation • 2009: Accor is member of the GBC malaria platform • 2010: Pilot operation in Benin at Novotel Cotonou Orisha and Ibis Cotonou • Objective : Test a prevention operation against Malaria in partnership with the GBC for the 140 employees of the 2 hotels and their 290 beneficiaries - Information/training - Distribution of bed nets and follow-up - Report
To go further Massive GoodInitiative • Accor will participate in the Massive Good Initiative • Objective of the campaign : funding of health programs to fight against HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis in the world • Launch of the campaign : Spring 2010 on 6 countries (US, UK, Spain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland)
