ILEC Services • TIE line rental • Private, high speed, used to link 2 PBX’s together, charged on a flat rate • Can be very expensive • Foreign Exchange • Allows a customer to call a local number • That call then gets routed to your location • WATS • Wide Area Telecommunication Service • Created in the 1970’s to allow customers some breaks when calling long distance • 800/888/877/866 • Allows customers to call you toll free • The business pays for the call at a reduced rate
IEC Services • Inter-exchange carrier • Long distance carriers • Switched Long Distance (DDD) • Credit card dialing • Directory assistance • Other similar services such as: • WATS – volume discounted calling • 800/888 numbers • Remote call forwarding (similar to FX)
