The DRC Project: • will provide commuter rail service to connect communities in the East Bay (Union City, Fremont & Newark) and the Peninsula (Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Jose and San Francisco) • includes: • the improvement, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of tracks, including rehabilitation of a rail bridge currently not in use • new stations and modification to existing stations • the replacement and/or retrofit of structures • marsh enhancements What is the DRC Project?

Need • Inadequate transit between the Peninsula and East Bay • Poor connectivity between transit systems • Roadway and bridge congestion • Housing-jobs imbalance • The Purpose of the DRC Project is to measurably improve the transbaypublic transportation service and interconnections to reduce roadway congestion, improve travel reliability, improve air quality, and address GHG reduction goals from transportation and development.   6. Alternatives evaluated in the EIS/EIR: • No-Build Alternative • Rail Commuter Alternative • Rail Shuttle Alternative • Rail Hybrid Alternative • Enhanced Bus / Transportation Systems Management Alternative Project Alternatives

Rail Commuter Alternative - Weekday peak-period rail service - AM: 3 hourly trains from Union City to San Francisco and 3 hourly trains from Union City to San Jose - PM: 3 hourly trains from San Francisco to Union City and 3 hourly trains from San Jose to Union City Rail Shuttle Alternative - Weekday, peak-period, bi-directional 15-minute rail shuttle service between Union City and Redwood City Rail Alternatives

Rail Hybrid Alternative - Weekday peak-period rail service - AM: 3 hourly trains from Union City to San Francisco and 3 hourly trains from Union City to San Jose - PM: 3 hourly trains from San Francisco to Union City and 3 hourly trains from San Jose to Union City - Both AM & PM: Bi-directional 30-minute rail shuttle service between Union City and Redwood City Rail Alternatives
