Where they live and what they look like • They live in dry forests in Madagascar. • They are mammals with fox like faces. • Some Lemurs have ringed tales, some look like they have collars, and others are red and ruffed.
Species and what they eat • There are 18 species of lemurs. • Lemurs eat insects, buds, small birds, and bird eggs. • There are around 100 types of lemurs.
Fun Fact • A ring tailed lemur’s howl can be heard half a mile away. • Some of ring tailed lemurs favorite pastimes is to find a bright spot and bask in a meditative sun worshiper’s pose.
Fun Facts • Some of the ringed tailed lemurs neighbors are Brown Lemurs, Boa Constrictors, Eagles, Hawks, and Fossas. • The ring tailed lemur’s scientific name is lemur catta.
