  2. Introduction The Lemurs was found in the ­theisland of Madagascar, a country located about 250 miles off the coast of southeast Africa. In fact, Madagascar is also a home to some of the most unique and endangered plants and animals in the world. Lemurs are primates, a group that includes monkeys, apes and humans.

  3. Diet The Lemurs feed on insects with small bodies, long noses and large eyes.

  4. Habitat The Lemurs rely on their moist noises and strong senses of smell to find food and identify individuals in their social group. The lemurs use their teeth as a comb to comb their own fur.

  5. Physical Appearance • Its length is 24-30 inches and the tail alternates with white and black rings about an inch wide. It has a sharp nose too. Lemurs can walk or hop a few steps

  6. The interesting facts about the Lemurs • There are over 30 species of lemur and each type of lemur looks very different. They vary in colour from reddish brown to grey, and come in all different sizes. The Lemur is named after the lemurs ghosts or spirits of Roman mythology. The smallest lemur is the pygmy mouse lemur which weighs just 1oz.

  7. The evolution from the Lemurs to human • Lemurs are related to humans like you and me. We came from the same ancestorsas the Lemurs have existed for a very long time. They go back 40 million years. Humans are very young compared to lemurs. They go back only about 250,000 years.
