Presentation Tips for Public Speaking • Know the needs of your audience • When you are presenting it is not unlike acting! • Body language: • Much of communication comes through body language • Posture– stand up straight, don’t lean backwards or forwardsStay relaxed and balanced! • Hands are prone to fidgeting! • Dress!—your physical appearance WILL shape first impressions • Eye contact—maintaining eye contact with your audience is an essential element of good public speaking! DO THIS NOW!!!
Presentation Tips for Public Speaking cont… • Speak with conviction as if you really believe in what you are saying. Persuade your audience effectively. • Try not read from notes for any extended length of time • BE CONFIDENT! – FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT!
