  2. History • PACES organization began around 1980 • First strategic plan in 2008 in SF • Development of committees • Changes made to governance structure • Training guidelines/IBRHE • Guideline review/PACES branding (strategic plan document is on our PACES website)

  3. Strategic Plan 201480 PACES members • Volunteer • Balanced for seniority (years from fellowship) • Incorporated international members • Balanced for geographic region • Balanced for m/f • Included allied professionals

  4. Discussed strengths/weaknesses of PACES today • Governance • Advocacy • Training/Credentialing • Research • Financial statement • Guideline development

  5. Pillar I Sustainable Infrastructure • Financial stability to support PACES activities • Determination of a proposed budget • Determination of a proposed revenue stream • Potential increase in dues • Change timing of dues = everyone to pay at the same due date in Fall so that we have one lump some for the year and can determine budget from that • Website • Need for an Administrator

Pillar II Brand Development and Global Recognition • Global recognition • Meeting with international socieites to develop relationships and awareness of PACES • Developing an alliance with adult congenital society • HRS • Advocacy • defining and formalizing relationships with other organizations • Marketing

  7. Pillar III Collaborative Research, Education and Quality Outcomes • Endorsement of training programs • Continued guideline review/development • Parent/patient educational materials • Consensus update on Pediatric ablation • Enhancing/supporting PACES research collaboration

  8. Next steps • Refine the specific goals under each pillar • Submit report to Executive committee and PACES membership • Take steps to implement these goals – by HRS 2015
