Summary • I have minimal knowledge in ZBrush at the current time, and I would like to create my own custom character piece while picking up some new handy features and review previous techniques learned. • I will be tracking my progress alongside this document, and a text document for journaling. • As of now, I am considering a fantasy piece like a gnome or goblin, or a custom Warhammer 40k character.
Week 1: Concept + Base Mesh • Part One: True Concept Sketches • I have been lacking in dedication to concept art far too long. I will put adequate time into my concept to ensure I will have a quality reference. • Part Two: Max Base Mesh • Max will be the easy part, although I’m not experienced with character modeling.
Week 2: Basic Sculpting • Part One: Sculpting Basic Details • I will sculpt basic details into the base mesh. • Part Two: Sculpting High Resolution Mesh • I will sculpt at high resolution, adding in fine details
Week 3:Retopo • Part One: Research • I will research tutorials and forums to find instructional materials to aid me in my work. • Part Two: Application • I will apply my obtained knowledge into my piece.
Week 4: Painting and Texturing • I will paint and texture the piece. Lighting and high quality rendering will follow soon after.
